Trance and Creativity
A Three-Day Deep Dive Into Creating New Possibilities And Realities
with Stephen Gilligan
Join Stephen Gilligan at the London Hypnosis Academy, and learn how to cultivate the natural creativity inherent in hypnotic trance to build more choices into your life. Trance is the ultimate state of creativity, which is capable of holding multiple realities for any given context. Creative Trance enables you to build experiences way beyond the constraints of the conscious mind and the scope of everyday thinking, which is mediated and heavily influenced by one’s past. This is about accessing the super creativity you naturally have but do not have access to in the everyday state, to build a present and future that is free of the shackles from the past.
In this unique online event Stephen Gilligan will lead participants through a deep dive into their unconscious minds to access the ‘special dream like space’ in trance, and go beyond problems and ego struggles inherent in everyday life. In doing so, build exciting new realities.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to explore the current trances in your present experience which are limited to your immediate and historic filters. You will expand your creative map for what is possible and transform the new possibilities to new realities.
Stephen will be conducting live demonstrations with course participants followed by exercises, for you to take a journey deep into your unconscious and bring back to consciousness new behaviours and states that were previously unavailable to you. You will be applying the creativity of trance to reconstruct current problems, static situations and contexts where you feel locked and blocked. You will build exciting new experiences for yourself beyond your current map.

The premise of Trance and Creativity is that when the positive connections are at high levels, trances are creative and positive. Conversely, when the positive connections are at low levels, creativity is low and negative experiences are more likely to be of a low level. The key to long term change and transformation is accessing creative and constructive trances which will transcend the boundaries of the lower level and less positive elements in our experience, allowing for new choices to emerge in the playground of life.

Meet Stephen Gilligan
Stephen Gilligan Ph.D is one the most experienced Ericksonian Trainers and Therapists in the world, leading courses and supervision sessions for therapists across the globe. Additionally, Stephen is the pioneer of several therapy and coaching systems, including ‘Self Relations’ ‘Generative Trance’ and ‘Generative Coaching’. In his work, Stephen overlaps his extensive experience as a therapist, researcher, and educator in a format which uniquely looks at the individual and his/her life experience and life connections as a whole. Stephen’s approach to therapy and change utilises the state of trance to enable the client to find solutions buried deep in the innate intelligence of the subconscious mind.
Stephen did his undergraduate work in psychology at UC Santa Cruz, where he met many of the specialist researchers, who were applying a humanistic approach to then then dominant cognitive approach to psychology. He studied and worked closely with Gregory Bateson, John Grinder, Richard Bandler and Milton Erickson. Stephen undertook his Ph.D. at Stanford University in research psychology. Since then, he has been practicing, writing, teaching as a psychotherapist/coach, always looking for ways to absorb the countless contradictions and struggles of consciousness into generative integration.
